The Wolf and the Crane - Completing Story
Once upon a time, there lived a wolf who was vicious in nature. He used to harm and attack small creatures for fun.
The jungle animals were annoyed and scared of him. He was also very greedy about eating. Most of the time he was either eating or hunting other animals. One day when he was eating restlessly, a piece of bone got stuck in his throat. He tried everything but it was very big and he could not even talk.
Soon, it started to pain and the wolf got very hungry. Finding no solution, he went to a crane for help. The crane was beloved by all animals for her kindness.
The wolf went to her and murmured desperately, "Please help me. A big piece of bone got stuck in my throat and now it is hurting. You have long beaks and a long neck. You will be rewarded if you help me".
Hearing this she thought for a second and then agreed. Though the crane agreed, it was still scary to sneak her neck into the vicious wolf's mouth. The crane easily removed the bone and the wolf was relieved.
Showing no sign of gratitude, the wolf started to walk away. The crane said, "Hey! You promised to give me a reward. I want you to stop bothering weaker animals for fun and treat everyone with kindness in this jungle. As you had promised, now grant me my reward".
The wolf laughed ferociously and with a smirk on his face, he replied, "You have been rewarded silly crane! The fact that I did not break your neck while it was right in my mouth is your biggest reward. I spared your life for your kindness." Then he walked away. The crane realized that she should not have made an agreement with the wicked.
